TAC Healthcare’s Menopause Support Service helps organisations champion female employees by providing a holistic approach to menopausal care. Combining expert medical guidance, psychological support, nutritional advice, and customised resources, our programme addresses the physical, emotional, and mental challenges of menopause - promoting an inclusive, supportive working environment.

Comprehensive Menopause Care

A 2023 Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) report found that out of 2000 women surveyed: Two-thirds (67%) of women (aged 40 to 60 in employment) with experience of menopausal symptoms say they have had a mostly negative effect on them at work and around one in six people surveyed (17%) have considered leaving work due to a lack of support in relation to their menopause symptoms, and a further 6% have left work. It is therefore important for employers to ensure workplace support for women experiencing menopausal symptoms is accessible to their employees that need it.

With a combination of expert medical care, evidence based psychological support, nutritional information and tailored resources, TAC Healthcare's iWell menopause services offer a comprehensive approach to care. Whether through a GP consultation, the CBT programme, counselling sessions or nutritional information, we provide women with the tools and understanding they need to thrive during this natural life transition.

Experienced Menopause Trained GPs

Menopause GP Service

Our menopause service provides access to private GPs, available either online or face-to-face at one of our clinics. Our GPs can provide a menopause diagnosis and, if appropriate, prescribe Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).

Menopause Diagnosis: A private GP can confirm if a woman is experiencing menopause by assessing symptoms with help of a questionnaire and discuss next steps.

Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT): If needed, private GPs can prescribe HRT to alleviate symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats, and mood swings, tailoring the treatment to the woman's health needs.

Personalised Treatment Plans: In addition to HRT, GPs can offer non-hormonal medications, lifestyle recommendations, and advice on diet, exercise, and stress management.

Ongoing Monitoring: A private GP will regularly monitor progress, adjust treatments, and address any side effects to ensure continued wellbeing at 3 months & 6 months after first appointment.

Confidential and Convenient Care: Private GPs offer confidential, accessible care through online or in-person consultations, ensuring women feel comfortable and supported.

Holistic Wellbeing Support: Private GPs can provide advice on maintaining overall health during menopause, including stress management, sleep hygiene, and physical activity.

In addition to medical care, we offer two flexible pathways to support emotional and psychological wellbeing during menopause:

Six Week Menopause and
CBT Programme

Delivered in conjunction with Rightsteps. This comprehensive programme not only equips women with the skills to manage menopause symptoms. With its evidence-based approach and flexible delivery options, this programme is ideal for women, HR teams supporting employees, or employers seeking tailored, effective solutions.

The programme begins with an initial assessment undertaken by iWell, providing a tailored understanding of each woman’s unique needs and goals. Following this, women can choose between two delivery options (pricing differs depending on option chosen):

Blended Support: Includes three 15-minute check-ins with a trained CBT therapist during the course to provide additional guidance and support.

Self-Guided Option: Ideal for those who prefer working independently, with access to all course materials and resources.

This low intensity programme focuses on managing key symptoms such as hot flushes, night sweats, and sleep disturbances while addressing stress and promoting overall wellbeing. Women also gain access to a dedicated menopause platform containing additional psycho-educational content and bitesize information on topics such as what is the menopause and useful ideas for managing symptoms more effectively.

The programme is structured into six weekly sessions, each targeting a specific aspect of menopause management:

Session 1: Welcome Session
Overview of the course, clinical measures, and goal setting.

Session 2: Understanding Menopause
Introduction to the psychological and physiological impacts of menopause and how CBT can help.

Session 3: Stress and Menopausal Symptoms
Practical strategies to manage stress, including relaxation techniques and reframing negative thoughts.

Session 4: Managing Hot Flushes in the Daytime
Tools to reduce the impact of hot flushes and improve comfort during daily activities.

Session 5: Improving Sleep and Managing Night Sweats
Techniques to establish healthier sleep routines and manage fatigue.

Session 6: Maintaining Gains in the Future
Recap on learning, clinical measures, approaches to relaxation and physical activity.

Counselling
Sessions

For those seeking a more personalised approach, we offer six one-on-one counselling sessions with a professional counsellor. These sessions provide a safe and supportive environment to explore and manage the emotional impact of menopause, encouraging resilience and emotional balance.
